Description

Arbor Bay School is licensed and certified by the state of California Department of Education as a Non-Public School. Arbor Bay School is a 501c3 non-profit organization.

Who attends ABS

Arbor Bay School is comprised of a blending of student populations who benefit from a small classroom environment and more sophisticated learning strategies and support. This includes children functioning at grade level who benefit from the small setting combined with students with mild to moderate learning difficulties.

Students may have a diagnosis of receptive-expressive language delay, dyslexia, auditory processing challenges, attention deficit, autism, asperger’s, or they are gifted but benefit from the small classroom environment. The classes are blended in a way that facilitates students to actively engage with each other and with the learning process.

Mission

The mission of Arbor Bay School is to increase opportunities for children in grades K-8 with mild to moderate learning differences to achieve academic and social success. We achieve this through highly individualized and specialized instruction, combined with speech and occupational therapy in a small classroom environment.

Many Arbor Bay School's families view Arbor Bay School's small and nurturing environment as a preferred choice for their child's education. At the same time, some of our families work with their teachers on a plan to transition their child to a larger school setting after their student is given the tools to succeed through Arbor Bay School's program.
Arbor Bay School does not provide transportation between school and home. Families come to Arbor Bay School from Marin, the East Bay and the South Bay and carpooling is encouraged.
